”Sundays Are for Cake.”

A little tradition in our family.

“Sunday lunch always ends with cake.”

It’s a small family ritual that I hope to pass down one day to my grandchildren, and even to my great-grandchildren.

In France, Sunday is a day of rest.

When you walk through the streets, you often notice more closed shops than open ones.

Most shops are closed.
Even supermarkets close around noon.

A quiet Sunday, almost the complete opposite of the lively atmosphere of weekdays and Saturdays.

And yet, there is something strangely comforting about it.

“Today, it’s okay to rest.”

Everyone can simply enjoy their own time, without worry or guilt.

A peaceful, protected day of rest for everyone.

I love these French Sundays.

And to celebrate this day of rest,
we end our Sunday lunch with cake.
